Wink Makeup Academy, a center of learning for aspiring makeup artists and for industry professionals who want to update their skills. As a registered private career college under the Private Career Colleges Act 2005, Wink provides access to cutting edge diploma programs with curriculums catered to meeting and exceeding the current demands of the makeup and beauty industry. Classes are intimate, with only 8 students per class and are led by instructors who are some of the industry’s top makeup & hair artists and specialize either in the film, television, stage, and fashion or bridal industries. At Wink, you will learn industry secrets from top hair & makeup pros that also have extensive teaching experience, many having worked in several private and public Ontario makeup schools and colleges. Being working makeup artists, they also have an innate understanding of what it takes to create a successful makeup career.
In 2007, Wink introduced a revolutionary set of workshops, under the title, “Portfolio Development”. These workshops were the first of their kind in the makeup education industry, giving students the chance to shoot on location at a photo studio, with a fashion photographer and a pro model. The premise behind the workshops is that students will build an industry worthy fashion portfolio that will open doors for them and help fast track their career. A great portfolio is the key to a makeup artist’s success. It showcases and provides proof of your talent to producers, directors, photographers, models, agents, and clients; all who want to see your book.
