Editorial Makeup Techniques for the Fashion Industry begins with the introduction of industry accepted fashion looks appropriate for the covers of a variety of magazines such as Vogue, Sports Illustrated, Elle, Self and Cosmopolitan, just to name a few. You will learn how to create extremely natural, natural, soft glamour and glamour "cover looks" that are dewy, semi matte and matte. This course will then teach you how to achieve more edgy, editorial, high fashion and fantasy looks for more fashion forward, North American and European Magazines such as Zink and Photo. The looks you will learn include a bronzed glamour makeup style and a porcelain edgy makeup. You will learn how to block out eyebrows to create extreme looks for high fashion, editorial magazine stories or spreads. This part of the program will also focus on the makeup styles and trends from the past, such as the Egyptian, Elizabethan and Geisha styles, as well as the 1920's to the 1990's, and how makeup artists reinterpret the trends of the past to create the editorial makeup looks that you see in today's magazines. You will also learn how to create spring and fall runway looks and how to work backstage at a runway show both as an assistant and as the head of the show, or what the industry refers to as the "key makeup" artist.
